Hi hi! I'm back with a new post on Japan, and this one's a doozy. I didn't get to go here last time around, since we were only in Kyoto for 24 hours. But no time like the present, right?
A little advice tho, do not come here in summer. Aside from being one of the prettiest places I've ever seen, it was also one of the most uncomfortable. Humidity was highest this day, and the sun beat down on Arashiyama from the moment we left our hotel, bags in tow, until pretty much the entirety of this day.
It didn't help that my outfit was stuffy as well. I felt like I was swimming in this top/skirt combo by the end of the day. That shimmer on my skin? That's sweat, not highlight hahahah.
However, it didn't change the fact that Arashiyama was a beautiful sight. Even the streets along the bamboo grove are pretty, and we did get some reprieve from the heat in Zarame - a high-end Cotton Candy store. Delicious! We tried their Sakura Milk flavor, and let me tell you, it's not just sugar cotton, there's an actual flavor.
