24 Hours in Kowloon

So, Leon and I decided to go to HK for a little R&R the only way we know how, we winged it. We booked the room the day we were leaving, forgot to buy ferry tickets, oh, and we didn't bother making any plans, so - the usual.

We found ourselves drifting to Kowloon for a quick photoshoot, walking till we found Heritage 1881. It was a beautiful location, and though there were lots of people around, we made it work. Since it was an easy kind of day, I wanted my outfit to be as much. I used to have an off-shoulder top like this, and I remembered how much I loved showing off my shoulders. I don't know why but I feel so much more exposed and sexier with a top like this, rather than a tiny crop top or low v-neck. Can you believe that I was sweating in this though?? Yes, I was.

All in all the day was uneventful. Just walking around for hours on end and shoe shopping (not for me, I might add, which is a surprise even to me!) But that's okay, I'm returning this week with my family for a little birthday celebration ;) Yep, keeping it busy.

Sometimes I find myself with a pairing that's too good to be true. I guess you can say it about this outfit - pink, red, girly and everything. Isn't it cute? It's like Valentine's came too late this year. I was nowhere near this frilly on the real holiday though.

I'm sorry I haven't been taking care of this blog lately, darlings. A lot has happened the week before and I just found myself without any time to do anything, much less blogging. In a whirlwind of events and emotions, I found myself resigning from my previous job, getting a new one and now, I'm working with my dear friend and amazing blogger, Carla, again. I hope you don't go through this much trouble with your careers. I just felt like I needed a place where I could grow as an individual, get amazing experiences and knowledge, and just do what it is I've always envisioned myself doing. Hopefully, I've found it, fingers-crossed. I'm going to sort out this mess and there'll be more of me coming in the following months.

The heat has taken over my life. It's too hot and humid outside, dressing up has become a chore rather than something I always look forward to.So, today, an outfit that's very simple that I noticed was channeling an iconic Grease character. Yep. Oddly enough, a perfect outfit for some errands-slash-family time.

People always tell me I have confidence in spades to be able to dress like this though I'm not skinny. I don't know why they'd tell me that though, because it never seemed like a big deal. But of course it is, to others. Some are genuinely interested to know how I do it - many girls with similar body types who are nervous of taking on "skinny-girl" trends (there is no such thing), but there are some who are so negatively disturbed by how I dress that they make a point of talking about it within earshot. Things like "She's so big, how can she think she looks good?" or "Look at that fat girl showing off her rolls". At this point it doesn't bother me anymore, but is this the same for everyone who doesn't fit the standard beauty type? Sigh.

Anyways, if you ever had this problem, I'm telling you that listening to them won't help you in any way. Why must we sacrifice our happiness for people we don't even know? Or wouldn't normally care about? Show that off if that's what you want babes!

Made for Wind Moments

I figured it was high time for me to add a little color back into my blog. Enter, the parrot culottes of yesteryear. This was, what you may call, a perfect summer outfit, since it was made of soft, breezy moments such as the one we were experiencing in the picture. However, with how short this top was, I know it would've easily been a fashion faux pas if the wind blew just a little harder. I'm trying to get mysellf out of my style rut, which, if anyone has had similar experience before, is no easy task. The fact I didn't go for my usual stripes in this shoot is a step in the right direction.

My life has been synonymous with work lately, and being sick - which is what I was for the last couple of days. I had the flu, believe it or not, and I had to cancel some made plans. Boo hoo me, but I'm doing better now, a bit, just a sniffle here and there. Sigh. Do you ever get the feeling that your life is simply playing with your emotions, waiting for you to snap? That's me in a heartbeat right now. But I've never given up before, and I don't plan to start now. The plan is just to plow through and hope for rainbows on the other side.

Major Shine

My husband's reaction to this little mismatched everything outfit of the day? "Is this supposed to match each other?" to which I replied "Matchy-matchy is overrated". It was a little bit of everything, though, I admit that. When I was leaving the house, all I could think about was how I wanted to wear something breezy like my delicate, eyelet cami. It was gonna be paired with something else entirely, but...well, in the end I just grabbed anything (a lot of shiny) and left. In the end, I really adore this outfit. The booties are a worthy addition to my shoe closet (of sorts) and they just match everything right now, it's ridiculous.

If you're wondering why I look so upset in these photos, I'm not. I was actually pretty happy with myself - I just happened to have drawn on an exceptionally angry pair of eyebrows. Funny right? I've never been very good with makeup - okay, I'm really bad at it, like, my friends' eyebrows are shooting up everytime I put makeup, bad. It's more about keeping my face as clean and bare (the no-makeup makeup) as possible, put a smidge of blush and finish with my Revlon chubby stick. Tada! Makeup.

Weekend Blues

Hi babes, so here's a post that is the definition of an epic fail today. I was loving my center part in these pictures, then the wind just blew through and destroyed my good hair day. I freaked out, hehehe and that was it for the day. I guess we all have brain fart sometimes, this was mine. But I saved some good ones to show you anyway (technically, just one), because I really did love this weekend look. Mom jeans are so cool right now, but more than that, the high waisted, non-super skinny fit was just perfect for always body-conscious me.

This wasn't exactly on a weekend (what you get when you don't work 9-5) but it felt like it, because I got to spend time with my friends at Hard Rock, which is always fun, and then the next day with my hubby. Macau is back to bright, cheery, sunny days, which makes it hard not to love right now. And you know how much I love to bash the little town I call home every chance I get, tee hee.

Everyday Uniform

Top, chain and shoes: Asos// Skirt: MDS Collection (from SG)// Blazer: Pull & Bear

I tried very hard to change it up, going from outfit to outfit. In the end though, I am in a style funk. Good thing I've pretty much determined what my "uniform" is. Black, white and stripes. You just cannot go wrong with this combo. Add in a pretty, dainty yet standout chain and flat shoes and you have an OOTD for the day. Tada! These shoes are my new obsession. Everyone has a pair of these slip ons (I have them, tee hee) so I was so happy when I found hi-top versions. They look like mini-booties, right? Would be so cool in the winter as well.

It's been work, work, work lately. I don't think I've done much else. Of course always a time for friends and family as well but that's been few and far between. I really need a breather. Whew.
