Look what came for me very recently in the mail (seriously, the employees at our local post office must think I'm super shopaholic by now). Yes, it's the leopard sunnies from the e-boutique, Chicnova - I like this word a lot! - which actually came at a really bad time because it is all rain and fog here right now. So we have to meet like this. But don't worry, if the sun comes out to play, these'll be the first things I grab!

Not the best time for photos, I have to say...the foggy weather fudged up most of my shots. But I wanted to debut this jacket, so, on with the post! So...the weather, well, I think I was complaining a bit too much because it went from irritatingly hot, to pleasant and cool, to just downright cold in all of five days...without any warning. Hence the leather on leather look. The leather tee is an old purchase, but the weather was never cold enough to wear it. And the jacket - well, you met it a few months ago. Do you guys remember? Yep, it's my studded treasure ready for duty! Now that it's colder I'll be wearing this so much it'll need its own archive =)

The weather's a fickle thing - and that's it for the weather report I seem to have on here post after post..hehe.. =) Anyways, I finally got to wear a layered up look again, my go-to look last winter when I would just pick up the first things I find in my closet and bundle them together (and then hope for the best..oh yes, those were lazy times). The slouchy cardigan was my dad's, and is the comfiest piece of garment I own, and the boots were my everyday boots before Doc Martens came along and swooped me away. But they are still nice and comfy, and have this broke-in leather, military look I absolutely love.

Oh, before you ask, yes, these are prescription glasses. I wear them from time to time, especially during movies, because I keep squinting if something is too far away. My bad eyesight came along because I kept trying to read in the dark at a young age. Just a little tidbit about me...I guess I wore them today because they were something I always wore and it felt authentic. For today, though, I just went for a short walk with Leon, ate a little and then spent the rest of his free hours watching 'The Lorax' at my place, and then went back out again after a few hours to see the Food Fest with my family. Doesn't today's look just remind you of the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper album? Yes, it's the return of the band jacket from a while ago. I put the outfit together to showcase a new (and highly anticipated) addition to my shoe closet: wedge sneakers! After a long, personal debate of should I or shouldn't I, well, fortunately, I went with the first option. They're just my type, versatile and cool at the same time. 

The weather turned for the worse again, and now we're back in summer territory. Needless to say it annoyed me, as usual. But I went ahead and wore a light jacket anyway, because right after this shoot with Carla, I went straight to the cinemas to catch Skyfall 007 with Leon - we looked like buddies, haha!

Have you joined the wedge-sneaker trend yet? Because coming from one of the skeptics (me), it made me a believer! I can't wait to showcase them again =) Well, till next post sweeties, have a great weekend :)

It's starting to become a little obsession, my affinity for men's shirts (which my boy would never wear). This time, it's, you guessed it, the Simpsons' sweater. It was a completely spontaneous purchase...but then again, so are 90% of my purchases! I was waiting at the bus stop outside work, all tired and sleepy, when I saw this hanging in a surplus shop right behind. I loved the contrast sleeves and the print, so without actually planning to, I bought it - and missed three buses in the process. Wore it to go have lunch with Leon, and I think we color matched just a little in blue/green/grey (me and him, we never match - I want all the colors of the rainbow, he wants his basic man colors)

Next on my list of man shirts? A guy flannel hoodie! So I'll be updating again soon - see you lovelies!

I have been living in my jumpers for a while now, and I think I have amassed quite a lot since I started this blog. But this one - my 10 MOP find - will always be one of my favorites. Perfect slouchy fit, versatile heather grey and sequins? I could wear this all winter! For today's outfit, I go for a bright summer skirt, which I lost all summer, tights and my trusty Docs. 

Anyways, I have been thinking of asking this all week, but how old do you, my readers, think I am?? Because I have been getting so many comments about my age recently...some people assume I'm still in highschool, and one even guessed that I was born in 1995. 1995 - that means I'm seventeen!? Haha, I guess it's not a problem that people see me as so young (I can still get away with kitsch outfits like this!) but it also means that if I dress my age, people will think I was playing dress-up. I don't know, it's sort of giving me an identity crisis, haha! But I'm happy with it I guess, for now...well, tell me your honest views anyway, I'm quite curious. See you soon, sweeties,

Yes, Leon's back, and it took a little time for us to adjust again. But here I am with a new post anyway! I was sifting through the winter wear mountain in our living room - everyone's jackets and sweaters - and saw my dad's vintage denim jacket (he's had it for about 10 years now). So, here's another article I made for What I Wear a few months ago, about steps on how plus-size ladies (like me) can dress more stylishly - like me?? Maybe...Being a chubby girl for most of my life, I know how it is to be afraid of dressing up the way I want to - hey, I wore all-black for two years, and then went for baggy, shapeless stuff right after. And so I agreed to do this article.

Here's the original text from the article, written by none other than yours truly (and for good measure, I've put some pictures from my blog just for you, my lovely readers):

1. Buy clothes that fit right

I used to buy clothes that were very baggy (not the good kind of baggy) for the purpose of trying to look slimmer. Well, it didn't work. Not only did I look even bigger, I wasn't very comfortable in them. Now I always buy clothes that fit right. I still have some baggy pieces, but that's because I want them to be. If you have the chance to try them on, try them first. And if they don't fit? Well, it's not the end of the world. There are plenty of other stores with similar or even better items!

2. Invest in add-ons

I invest in good shoes, bags, and accessories - not only will they always fit you, they always complete an outfit! Buy add-ons that fit your style, like neon colors, studs, or flowers! It's all up to you really!

3. Play with proportions

To me, this is very important, and will take some practice. Proportioning focuses on those parts you want to tone down - my focus is usually on my middle section, so I usually wear a loose shirt, or high-waisted shorts with a belt! It is also about accentuating those parts you do like; if you like your legs, then wear fitted jeans or shorts, if it's your arms then maybe a tank top...in short, tone down what you don't like to show, and flaunt those that you do, the right proportions can work like a charm!

4. Go through your wardrobe

Experiment on your looks by taking the time to go and mix and match the clothes you have in your closet, you may never know what items you'll be pairing! To avoid panicking, which will usually lead to the stand-by rather than a whole new look, I always go into my closet beforehand (like a hobby), mix and match my clothing for a few hours, then take pictures of the looks I like, that way I can just check them out when I don’t have much time to dress up.

5.) Have fun

For some plus-size girls, it can be frightening to go out of the box, but honestly we can also wear -  and look good - in crazy prints, neon colors and even short hemlines! Black should just be another color option, ladies, not a color must!




6.) Confidence, confidence, confidence!

So now you've got this awesome look, you’ve bought the right clothes, and you’ve added the right accessories and you’ve also mastered the right balance, all there is now is for you to wear the look with pride. Who will believe you look good if you yourself are not confident that you do? Keep your head high, smile, and strut those curves - you look beautiful already!

For this post, I am a schoolgirl. If you remember from an old post, I'm not in school anymore, but nowadays, I couldn't help but think how I would've done things differently - when it comes to fashion - when I was at school. I was a nerdy, straight-laced highschool student, and then a stressed out, lazy university student. Fashion was the least of my problems. But I regret it now. So when I picked up this crochet-collared sweater (read: lucky find!), I knew I would be wearing it schoolgirl-style. The fact that the tag said 'Gossip Girl' - don't know whether it was a fluke or the real deal - was like it was meant to be. So, with my DIY tartan skirt, boots and bowler hat, voila! Just to honor the last season of my favorite TV inspiration and the tag of my sweater!
