Yeah, so recently, after hearing CarlaViolet gush over her new fave blogger: Andy of Style Scrapbook, I decided to check it out, and let's just say I fell in love with her style..I had already known of Andy from my lookbook account but never actually visited her blog. I noticed that she loved to wear all different sorts of maxi skirts and I was like, dammn, I gotta try that - except I don't own any long skirts. So for this post, I used a dress instead - the sheer effect of it really got to me. It is too long for me as a dress so I don't wear it, till I saw it when I was rummaging for a maxi skirt...I think I bought it because I love the color! It's really pretty -
Since I started blogging, I have come to like many bloggers and search their sites for inspiration, but today I also want to share with all of you my all -time favorite blogger, which is Betty A of leblogdebetty...I just really like how she chooses individual pieces, mixes them and always looks so effortless eventhough she's wearing a lot in one outfit. She's like my main source of blogger inspiration, and I always go back to her to look for something to wear...so yeah, I just wanted to share that with you all...
Anyways, I think this may be my last post wearing anything long-sleeved for a while; you see, I have a very, very, very low tolerance level where heat is concerned and I simply cannot wear anything that would make me feel hot, or else I start becoming irritable - I told you I didn't like summer that much...
Anyways, till next time my lovelies! happy reading!
Hey lovelies! I don't think I could really further explain how much I like to alter my clothes. Actually, my room is filled to the brim with clothes - a closet for my day-to-day wear, another closet for seasonal clothes, and finally, a drawer + plastic bags filled with dresses, tops, cloth and whatnot that are either broken, outdated, misfitting, or just plain ugly. They sit there, waiting for either me or my sister to pick them out and sew them into something new.
Which brings us to this post today. These jeans are just some grey jeans that I bought eventhough, for some reason, I hated the stone wash it had, and hence, barely wore. So one day, after a fit of boredom + seeing this post from my favorite blogger, Betty A, I decided to just snip off the entire area that had the wash on it, from the upper thigh to below the knee, and then I just left it on the to-alter pile till about a week ago, when I saw a gothic long-sleeved dress in the same pile. It has never been worn because it did not fit my bust area at all. And then I knew what to do, I ripped the sleeves off, sew it to the jeans and the result is thus:
The rest of the dress, particularly the skirt part, is now a tutu skirt I will be showing one of these days.
My days have been better lately, mostly because the sun is now a semi-permanent fixture in Macao's sky, not just a passing fancy anymore...oh and because I recently partied with my AJ crewmates and had a blast!...I'll post it soon!
I've been oddifying quite a lot lately so there's still a few things I wanna show you, although maybe not anytime soon...
So, today's outfit post is inspired by unlikely icons - the terminator and Robocop. And it is all because of one of my newest purchases - cosmic boots from Mars...no, not really, can you imagine the shipping fee for that??
Ahem, so, joking aside, these boots and I, we go way back, to two months ago, when I saw them in a shop window at Red Market. They were lovely and so unique...but I didn't buy them, I mean, where am I supposed to wear them??
But two months later, approximately a week ago, when Carla Violet and I went shopping, I saw them again...still at the shop window, last stock, my size, can you feel the cosmic significance?? finally I could not resist - so I bought them! and here they are!
Okay, you might be thinking, what's so special about those boots, Chezka? Scroll down for the rest of the pictures :
I didn't want to go all-out Lady Gaga with them for the first outfit, so I cooled the look down a bit with my slouchy sweater and ripped shorts...oh, and shades I stole from my dad...I didn't think my first outfit with these boots would be so...slouchy...but anyways...I love it!
That's it for this post, lovelies, thanks for reading this far!
Hi lovelies! Yes I know, the title is not verry discrete, and I've just shouted it out there that I have, in fact, just recently bought a new bag!
That's just because I am so excited to have it! I've actually been looking for a satchel like this for some time now, but it's either way out of my price range, or the wrong color, size, etc. so yeah, this lovely satchel bag from Zara makes me happy!
As for my outfit for the day, I don't know why - or maybe I do - but I've been going for more ragged looks lately, as opposed to those kitschy, whimsical looks I love. I'm quite sure it's because of my haircut, or maybe because that's how I've been dressing when I started my job, you know, because it's the easiest to achieve in under twenty minutes, but I'm not complaining; it gives my outfit posts a little more variety, right??
This outfit shows what I most likely wear everyday. Sort of like a uniform - big shirt, shorts and some jewels -
As much as I would love to wear my other, weirder style every single day, sometimes, especially when pressed for time, I have to dress down a bit!
I recently saw a post made by Jovana of Mess in my closet - see her blog here - of her making a studded vest out of an old bag and a denim jacket, and I thought to myself, why didn't I think about that?? I had an old denim jacket in my closet that didn't quite fit me like I wanted it to because the sleeves were too small. So I cut them off, and now I have a perfectly fitted vest. It's an ongoing project because I still plan to put studs or something on it - all credits to Jovana.
The shorts are altered too; I cut them up myself out of some of my mom's old jeans - asked her first, of course :) -
I love it that my superfriends get to be a part of blogging as I am, and I just want to shout out that I am so proud of you, loves!!
Well, that's it for now! Till next time, my lovelies!
I know what y'all are thinking : Chezka, why are you wearing one of the most overrated icons in history as your shirt?? Well, lovely lovelies, the reason is not because I suddenly had the urge to follow the trend but because we share the same name! Che - my nickname - so yeah! and also, he represents what the important matter of this post is - Me, believe it or not, being 'rebellious'
I had been hinting in the recent posts about cutting off my hard-earned long curls. Well, I'm finally going to post how it looks, and then some, here, because you would have to see it sooner or later...
But before I unleash the horror in its entirety - I would first like to explain why I did what I did; it was simple really, and I think you already know - I was bored. Yes, lovelies, bored. My hair had been growing out for three years in the same boring cut and Macao's weather was rendering it all crap-tacularly tangled...so yeah, I decided to chop it off.
The stylists at the salon (Base) told me they needed to straighten it out first, because apparently they didn't know where the roots ended and the ends began anymore. So below is what I looked like with straight hair (for a day):
See this second picture?? - yes, I asked for bangs. And I did not straighten them afterwards, just cut. Can you imagine this hair shorter?? and a whole lot curlier??
Tada! meet my new hair. We have a love-hate relationship right now, because while I love it secretly, I am still shy of publicizing it...and for good reason (Superrfriends, if you love me, you will not laugh when you see this)
Personally, though, I like the change. I just have to get the hang of it first. Okay, enough ranting, here's one of my recent outfits featuring this new do:
I was feeling the rebellious mood so I kept it all black with pops of brown - I am becoming addicted to brown - especially since my job might turn me to chocolate in the next couple of months :)
Rebel with a cause.
So, what do you guys think? Should I start wearing a wig?? let me know, k?
Till next time, lovelies!
- Che -
On an unrelated note, I just bungy-jumped for the third time yesterday - the harness jump. It was so fast but it was totally worth it! Pics up soon - that adds to my rebelliousness, eh? no?
Yes, it is! Warm, beautiful spring is here...honestly, I'm a winter person, basically because I love winter fashion, snow and prefer shivering to cold than sweating in the heat - but I have never been happier to see spring! Really really happy :)...and I thought a light, springy outfit would compliment that joy, hence my floaty outfit!
This floaty dress is the same one I was wearing in one of my shots under the post : Flying while on holiday - Bali. I got in a sales pile, selling for 20 yuan, which I still bargained with till the nice lady let me buy it for 15 yuan! (tee hee) It's the perfect spring dress, noh??
The blazer is one of my dad's oldest shirts, it is silk, and I vaguely remember him wearing it to go ballroom dancing with my mom and some other friends - I'm just borrowing it!
This is the last outfit I wore before I chopped my long hair off...I had good reason to, which I will justify in a future post! I somehow miss my long hair already - alas, the problem of being human, never satisfied!
Recently I purchased a new item from Carla Violet's shop (MPT): This rad polka dot jumpsuit, which I can use both as a jumpsuit and trousers! For my first try at it I kept it simple with basic - coloured accesories in gray and taupe.
Also new in this outfit : my new F21 wedges, which I did not buy in F21 but from a local shop here in Macao (In a Row - Ginza plaza) that ships in clothing and shoes from different places (Aldo, Charlotte Russe and multiple Japanese brands)!! So awesome! I have my eye on their Japanese - branded heeled galoshes - the most beautiful rainboots I have ever seen - hope I get to own them :(
And finally, the turband is also somewhat new - it was a hat I never used, so I cut off the front of it (the lips? tongue? of the hat) and wear it backside - front. Yay! turband! I've wanted one of these since a year ago! Oh and the cardigan is also altered - it used to be a v-neck shirt! I don't think I need to explain more on this fascination of mine to cutting up clothing...
It is finally getting warmer and sunnier in Macao (hence the beautiful lighting on these photos)! I was starting to wonder if it would ever become summer here - but the worst is not over yet - predictions say it will start raining again :( oh no, how bad would that be, especially where I work (it is open-aired), but I'm hoping for the best (hmm...I really need those galoshes)
Love this jumpsuit, can't wait to wear them as pants - I'll post it here, of course :) till then my lovely readers, happy blogging! kisses!
